What makes Mogu different: Part one: The Mogu Smart Router

By November 21, 2018 No Comments

Mogu is in the process of revolutionising the infrastructure of the internet, transforming the humble domestic router into something new. Part one of four.

Mogu is taking a very different approach to the internet, creating a new approach to the infrastructure that makes better use of the world’s resources and is cheaper of users around the world, whether they are businesses, governments, research communities or, most importantly, individuals.

This is the first of a set of four articles looking at what Mogu has to offer consumers from a variety of angles: what Mogu Smart Router does, how it works with Mogu’s distributed server network, Mogu’s revolutionary pricing structure. and finally, how Mogu can be distributed for free.

The Mogu approach is radically different to what has gone before, so the easiest place to start at the beginning: how a Mogu Smart Router works from a consumer perspective.

Like a normal router, but better

The Mogu Smart Router operates just like any other router when you need it. It lets you surf the internet without using up the monthly data package that your mobile service provider offers. You can play games, watch films and live events, enjoy cat videos, download you emails, look at your photos and a myriad of other activities. And, without going too far into the technical details, you can do all of these things at speed thanks to the XXXX processor/chipset/technology that’s built in.

Our routers are significantly more secure than the alternatives that are currently available. Mogu Smart Router users can see all connected devices on a home network and get rid of anything that shouldn’t be there. Users also have complete, transparent control of websites and applications for all devices, and users can even set time limits for how long specific devices can access the internet, which could be particularly useful for parents.

With the Mogu app you can also set up alerts for usage and limits and examine the analytics panel that provides insights into usage for all connected devices.

Automated updates

Mogu Smart Routers are also kept up-to-date automatically, removing the need for the domestic user to download security and software patches, a process that can be complicated on less advanced routers. If it ever becomes necessary, it is also simple to remotely restart and wipe data from Mogu routers.

Over 5,000 Mogu Smart Routers are already active across China. We have production and distribution agreements with leading technology players as we start to roll out across Asia and our ambition is to have 100 million of our routers in homes across the globe by 2023.

Put simply, the Mogu Smart Router is a next generation router for the home, a step up from what most of us have today. In the next two articles we’ll explain where truly Mogu stands out and what makes it a truly revolutionary product.

Mogu is a smart router company that is reimagining the infrastructure of the internet. Mogu will shortly be holding its Initial Token Sale. For further details, please follow us @MoguTech or subscribe to updates at
